Microban launches new odour control product

It has said the product is well suited to athletic apparel because it can significantly reduce the need to wash items. It neutralises body odour effectively enough for garments to require washing only after four or five consecutive wears, the company said, with the technology lasting for up to 50 washes. The water and energy savings from this can help increase the sustainability of clothing.
In addition, Scentry Revive can provide odour control in footwear for up to one year.
Microban said the new technology traps and neutralises odour by permeating the fabric to form a protective barrier that eliminates odour, adding that it can be easily integrated into existing dyeing and finishing processes.
At the time of the launch, the company’s vice-president for textiles, Lisa Owen, said: “We believe there will be great market demand for this product, and we are eager to start conversations with brands and manufacturers.”
