The technology provider said this development can give wearers a shoe that more effectively contours to the shape of the foot, while manufacturers will find it easy to integrate into existing footwear designs.
It will enable manufacturers to have access to a waterproof breathable insert, offering “seamless comfort” in a lightweight stretchy material that can be used in a variety of lighter-weight athletic and lifestyle shoes.
Gore intends to unveil 3D fit footwear at the OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen (June 17-20) and at the OutDoor Retailer event in Denver (July 23-26). Brand partners adidas Terrex and Salomon will be the first to manufacture shoes featuring the new technology. These will be available from February 2019.
