Vollebak pays tribute to textile maker Schoeller

It said on social media that the Vollebak Ceramic Midlayer is a difficult product for it to keep in stock because each top takes more than six months to make because every square centimetre of the midlayer is coated in tessellating matt black ceramic particles, each one thinner than a single human hair.
“It adds insane abrasion resistance to a top that already retains heat, blocks UV, wicks away sweat, is highly breathable, and has four-way stretch throughout and is part of the toughest layering system on the planet,” Vollebak said.
In spite of the complexity of making the midlayer, it confirmed that it is now in stock in its full range of six sizes for the first time in 2018.
