Directa Plus makes graphene cycling breakthrough

Graphene-based products developer Directa Plus is to supply its Graphene Plus (G+) material cycling brand Oakley for a new cycling jersey, G+ Graphene Aero.

Oakley unveiled the new product at Eurobike on July 8 in Friedrichshafen. It said the presence of G+ in the jersey would help dissipate heat from a rider’s body to allow greater focus on performance. Riders wearing the shirt will have to expend less energy regulating their own body temperature, the company said.

Directa Plus chief executive, Giulio Cesareo, said on making the announcement: “This is a significant endorsement of the strength of our offer and, in particular, the thermal regulation abilities of G+. Sportswear represents a substantial potential market for our G+ and we’re delighted to have added cycling clothing to our portfolio.”
