Polygiene files criminal charges against former CEO

Odour control technology provider Polygiene has accused former chief executive Christian von Uthmann of "serious fraud and breach of trust" and will file criminal charges against him. 

Following an internal investigation after Mr Uthmann’s contract was terminated earlier this year, Polygiene revealed he is suspected of exploiting his position and company resources “for improper personal gain”. 

Ulrika Björk, who took over from Mr Uthmann as Polygiene CEO, said: “There is strong evidence and the approach has been systematic. The board and senior management view this matter very seriously and, unfortunately, we see no alternative to filing charges. The matter has therefore been handed over to the relevant authorities who will decide on future actions.”

Polygiene is now awaiting a decision from local authorities about whether a preliminary investigation will be opened.
