International sales continue to drive Skechers growth

25/07/2018
US footwear brand Skechers has reported sales of $1.13 billion in the second quarter of 2018 (ended June 30), an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period of last year.

This strong performance was driven by 24.9% growth in the brand’s international wholesale business. Total international sales (including wholesale and retail sales) represented 51.6% of Skechers’ total sales during the quarter.

For the first half of 2018, Skechers’ revenue was 13.6% higher year on year at $2.38 billion.

Robert Greenberg, Skechers chief executive officer, said: “The financial accomplishments in the second quarter are the result of our product and marketing, as well as our on-going efforts to seek out global opportunities. With the right product and marketing, we believe there is significant opportunity to further grow our brand and continue to take market share. We are investing in our international business - both in newer and established markets as we continue to experience strong growth overseas.”
