04/09/2018
The company has explained that this fibre is extremely smooth and flat with a width to thickness ratio of up to 1:40. It added that this geometry has seen the fibre show good skin friendliness and high liquid storage capacity.
In addition, Leonardo offers high transparency, according to Kelheim. It listed cosmetic facial sheet masks and tea bags as potential uses for it, but also said that when processed into effect yarns it could provide a “special look” for textiles.
Dr Ingo Bernt, part of Kelheim’s research and development team will present Leonardo at the congress in Dornbirn.
