The seventh Smart Textiles Symposium took place from September 12-13 in Dornbirn, Austria. It ran concurrently with the Dornbirn Man-made Fibres Congress (MFC), a leading symposium related to synthetic fibres.

The events welcomed around 700 experts from industry and research. They came from 30 different countries, according to the organisers.

A total of 24 lectures took place across the two days, with speakers drawn from a range of disciplines within the field of smart textiles. Topics addressed included printed and flexible electronics, industry 4.0, and Cradle to Cradle manufacturing.

The founder of the Smart Textiles event, Günter Grabher, said: “The future of smart textiles is a true interdisciplinary collaboration between various industries, to benefit from the enormous potential of this growing market.”
