13/10/2016
The fair saw 63 companies, establishments and institutions from across the supply chain come together to discuss the future of the textile industry. The event’s organisers, Messe Dornbirn, said there were approximately 900 visitors from 13 different countries including Turkey, Belgium, Sweden and Turkmenistan.
“We are more than satisfied with the feedback from Saltex,” said Daniel Mutschlechner, managing director of Messe Dornbirn. “Our expectations were exceeded.”
The event coincided with the fifth Dornbirn smart textiles symposium. It saw 20 speakers present the latest developments in the areas of smart textiles and fibre composite, as well as discussing the technological innovations likely to emerge in the coming years. The topics on the agenda included smart textiles in energy storage, integrated sensors, carbon composites and automation.
A second edition of Saltex will take place in September 2018. It will involve increased collaboration with the Dornbirn Man-made Fibres Congress (MFC).
