Government minister attends Paris seminar

He said the country’s textile companies represent “an excellent example” of businesses that have transformed themselves from being low-value into reliable international partners for the twenty-first century. “We promise, and we deliver,” the minister said. “We are introducing new technologies, new yarns, new raw materials, but we have design too and we can offer a lot of added value. Our companies are knowledge-based, with highly skilled human resources and excellent ties to very good universities.”
Portugal’s textile industry exported €3.2 billion worth of product in 2017.
