Polartec Alpha makes impact on adventure skiing jacket
19/10/2018
First introduced in 2013, Polartec Alpha was originally developed for the US Special Forces. It was created in the pursuit of an insulation system capable of dealing with extreme temperature variations. It is highly stable, allowing for the use of more open and breathable layers either side of it.
Black Crows is now incorporating Polartec Alpha into its Ventus Hybrid Alpha jacket. It is designed for what the brand calls ‘adventure skiing’. Other features of the product include padded chevrons on the shoulders. The sleeves and hood are decorated with a map of the famous Mont-Blanc massif.
Camille Jaccoux, Black Crows co-founder, said: "We discovered the Polartec Alpha fabric a few seasons ago and it seemed clear it had to become part of our adventure skiing range. It's very comfortable, warm and breathable. If I had to choose a single under layer to bring along in my backpack, this would be it."
