Miami apparel trade show to expand in 2019

23/10/2018
The organisers Apparel Textile Sourcing Miami (ATSM), which had its inaugural edition this year, have announced that the show will double in size in 2019.

The first ATSM took place from May 21-23 at the city’s Mana Wynwood Convention Centre. It was launched following the success of a similar event in Canada.

The 2019 event is expected to welcome more than 300 international and domestic manufacturing companies exhibiting a wide range of products and solutions in the field of manufacturing and sourcing. The expansion is possible thanks to added investment of $2 million.

Jason Prescott, CEO of JP Communications, which organises ATSM, described the exhibition as “an unprecedented opportunity for buyers in the US and Latin America to source and negotiate licensing rights with these never-before-seen innovative brands.”

He added that buyers from more than 40 countries are expected to attend, citing the examples of Kate Spade, Zara, Gap, Macy’s and Levi’s.

The features of the ATSM 2019 will include an in-depth conference and educational programme, special runway presentations and matchmaking services.

There will also be market pavilions dedicated to emerging markets, including East Africa, the Philippines and Mongolia, and to Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Peru and Honduras.

In terms of products, there will be space dedicated to streetwear and a new section focusing on activewear, athleisure and swimwear.
