It decided to present the new yarns, which are suitable for circular knitting, at Outdoor Retailer in Denver in early November, with follow-ups at Performance Days in Munich at the end of November and at ISPO, also in Munich, in February.
Its focus for Yarn in Motion is on biodegradable products and said its merino blended yarns should prove an attractive, sustainable alternative “for all those who are looking for materials that will not add to microplastic pollution”.
Examples include Sargassi Nm 52/1, which combines 80% merino wool with 20% biodegradable polyamide. Other options include blends of merino wool with hemp, Tencel, linen, Modal or silk.
