Polygiene aims to ‘crunch’ odours from sources other than sweat

Odour control technology provider Polygiene is expanding its focus beyond sweat-related odour.

It has launched a new solution called Odor Crunch that it says can protect clothes from every day smells such as cooking cooking fumes, cigarette smoke, musty damp mould and pollution.

Polygiene argues that even limited exposure to these sources of odour leads consumers to wash clothes when they should not have to, which is bad for the environment.

Odor Crunch will solve this problem, Polygiene said, by making odour modules stick to the solution’s own particles. Once absorbed, they are catalytically “crunched” into smaller odourless molecules of water and carbon dioxide. This process continues for the lifetime of the garment.
