Twine to take its thread-dyeing system to ITMA

15/05/2019
Israel-based technology start-up Twine Solutions will unveil its digital thread-dyeing system at the ITMA textile machinery exhibition in Barcelona (June 20-26).

The company has said the system digitally dyes raw and off-the-shelf white thread that can be used in a number of sectors, including sewing, knitting and embroidery.

Visitors to ITMA will be able to see the system dye various thread types, including those from industrial thread manufacturer Coats, who in December invested $5 million for a 9.5% share in Twine.

The partners said at the time that Twine’s system will feature inbuilt colour software integrated with Coats ColourStitch, the group’s proprietary colour management system. This will also be on display in Barcelona.

In the build-up to the event, Alon Moshe, co-founder and CEO of Twine, said: “Our Twine Digital Thread Dyeing system unleashes the power of thread, at the touch of a button. The fast-paced digital transformation of the textile industry is challenging both for production and it’s environmental impact. We are excited to bring solutions that will have much needed and crucial economic, social and sustainability benefits.”
