Filidea to make more use of Xlance fibre

24/05/2019
Yarn producer Filidea, a joint venture set up by two textile groups, Marchi & Fildi from Italy and Abalioglu from Turkey, is extending its use of Xlance fibre.

Xlance is a fibre developed by Italian company Varallo Pombia. It’s an olefin-based elastic fibre, suitable for making yarns for workwear, swimwear and outdoor clothing. Filidea has made use of Xlance in a series of blends since 2009, but has said it will increase its production of these blends now.

Filidea has said Xlance allows it to create yarns that will give clothing high levels of resistance to abrasion and to frequent industrial laundry cycles. It is this that makes workwear an interesting application area.
