New cotton-like, high-performance polyester fabric from Teijin

It has said the new material combines the look and texture of cotton with high levels of moisture absorption (achieved by the capillary effect of the processed yarn’s structure), quick drying and UV protection properties (achieved with high-density knitting structure).
The cotton-like features are achieved with polyester filament yarn, not staple fibre. It is made with recycled raw materials. The company is targeting sales of 200,000 metres of the fabric in 2020 and one million metres in fiscal 2022.
