Teijin’s ripstop alternative combats traditional snagging problems
Textiles company Teijin Frontier has created an alternative to ripstop fabric for sportswear that it says combats the traditional problems of snagging, low abrasion resistance and uneven surfaces.

The Japanese company has used a thin, high-tenacity polyester yarn in what it calls an innovative arrangement and weaving density to produce a lightweight and highly tear-resistant fabric with a flat, even surface, soft texture and high resistance to abrasion and snagging.

Teijin Frontier will promote its new fabric as a key product for 2021 spring / summer sports and outdoor collections and is targeting annual sales of 400,000m by the fiscal year ending in March 2023.
