Denim maker opts for Archroma’s aniline-free indigo dye

Binh Duong Province-based Tuong Long has become the first denim manufacturer in Vietnam to switch 100% of its production to the Denisol Pure Indigo dyeing solution from Archroma, which the textile chemicals producer presents as having aniline levels that are below levels of detection.

According to Archroma, the dye, which it launched in May 2018, offers fabric mnaufacturers like Tuong Long “a non-toxic way” to produce the traditional indigo blue fabric so closely associated with denim and jeans.

The chemicals manufacturer’s president for Asia, Michel Zumstein, said “forward-thinking manufacturers” such as Tuong Long were a help in bringing “eco-advanced innovations” into the textile industry to make it more sustainable. “As consumers are increasingly concerned about the climate crisis, this is not only the right thing to do, it is also good for business,” he said.
