Revitalife chief executive, Clive van Deventer, has said the company has developed its range by combining two medical devices: its own therapeutic adjustable beds and chairs and Celliant textile technology from Hologenix. He said the company had decided to use Celliant because it recycles the body’s energy into infrared energy, promoting a temporary increase in blood flow, circulation and oxygen levels. “Celliant is clinically proven to promote a more restful sleep, aid in faster recovery, and help you wake up with more energy,” Mr van Deventer said, referring to a study at the University of California, Irvine, around ten years ago.
Hologenix’s regional manager in Australia, Richard Braham, commented that Celliant products are the first of their kind to be designated as medical devices. He said: “We believe Celliant is a truly disruptive technology that has transformational applications for textiles and is a natural way to sleep better.”
A physiotherapist with extensive sports experience, Peter Georgilopoulos, is working as an ambassador for Revitalife. His track record includes work with the Australian national soccer team and with the country’s Olympic team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. He has said the value of quality sleep is one of the key drivers in maintaining optimal physical and mental functionality is often underestimated.
He has also said that “sufficient recovery through undisturbed sleep”, along with physical exercise, is key to improved health in later years.
