Moon parka to make a comeback
Following the introduction of a prototype at the end of 2015, outdoor brand The North Face and Japanese textile technology developer Spiber are finally ready to launch their Moon parka. There will be a limited release of the garment on December 12.

Working with Japanese sports brand Goldwin, they have revisited the Moon parka idea. In this latest iteration, the outermost layer is made from a jointly developed brewed protein material, from proteins produced through a microbial fermentation without using any petrochemical resources. A breathable, waterproof laminate forms the middle layer of the shell, and the inner padding is based on material used in previous The North Face parkas.

The limited release will consist of just 50 pieces.
