First Portland Functional Fabric Fair was a sell-out

Organisers of the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, which took place for the first time in Portland on October 22 and 23, have described the event as a sell-out.

More than 1,100 industry professionals attended the event to learn about outdoor and active textile trends for the autumn-winter 2021-2022 season.

The event is an initiative of the Performance Days team, whose event has been running in Munich since 2008. It worked in partnership with Reed Exhibitions and Design & Development GmbH Textile Consult, in collaboration with Concept III Textiles, to launch the Functional Fabric Fair.

At the end of the inaugural Portland event, an experienced industry observer told sportstextiles that it had been “a great success”.

There were 140 exhibitors and the attendees, he said, were “quality visitors”. The space was  airy, clean and light, with plenty of coffee stations and charging stations around the show floor  and private meeting rooms (with refreshments) set up for brands including Nike, Columbia, Adidas, Under Armour, LL Bean and The North Face.

“It was very classy,” he concluded, “a show with a buzz.”
