Third Gandys children’s campus opens

The centres – an initiative that is part of the company’s ‘Don’t Just Exist – Give Back’ programme - provide a safe place for children to learn life skills and gain an education.
According to Gandys, Nepal has become a significant part of the company, with its Himalayan knitwear collection drawing inspiration from the flags on the Nepalese mountain ranges; but also, Nepal has been victim to traumatic events, including the 2015 earthquake - which led to mass homelessness, injuries and deaths.
The company said: “When we heard about a school that had been knocked down due to the earthquake, we knew instantly that this was the place. It was incredible to see its development from the rubble of a natural disaster to a brand new facility.
“We understand how devastating this event would have been to those who suffered as a result of the earthquake, so it was great to see how well the kids are doing and how they are moving on with their lives in a positive way.”
Gandys, founded by brothers Paul and Rob Forkan (pictured) who were orphaned in the 2004 Asian tsunami, have already set up centres in Sri Lanka and Malawi and are currently finishing construction of their fourth campus, based in Brazil.
