Spikeless shoe aims to “redefine the golf dress code”
A new shoe from adidas is attempting to “redefine the golf dress code” with a soft, rubber, spikeless outsole and what the company is calling a first-of-its-kind TPU insert.

The new line is called CodeChaos and uses a proprietary traction system called Twistgrip, which was developed by evaluating heat maps in studies on how golfers distribute and shift weight throughout a swing. Using grip-predictive analytics and real-life testing, adidas developed a grip configuration intended to provide maximum traction.

Also new to the brand’s golf line is the upper made of multi-layer mesh, for a new texture and improved durability and breathability. Layers are encased in film to provide waterproof protection.

With its spikeless sole and vibrant colorways, the shoe, said Masun Denison, global footwear director of adidas Golf, “is meant to challenge what a golf shoe can look and feel like”.
