Adidas puts carbon-infused rods in latest trainer
Adidas has dropped another iteration of its adizero family, this time with what it calls a “design breakthrough” — EnergyRods.
EnergyRods are five tuned carbon-infused rods, designed to mimic the metatarsal bones of the foot. The company said these allow runners to maintain speed for longer, by optimising running economy and creating less physical impact on the body.
“Built from analysis of the bone constructions of elite athletes,” adidas said of the new technology, “carbon-infused rods are placed underfoot to provide stiffness and limit energy loss.”
