Archroma and Liberty to produce PPE in Pakistan
Swiss chemical group Archroma is teaming up with Pakistan-based healthcare textiles manufacturer Liberty Textile Mill to produce personal protective equipment.
The partnership brings together Archroma’s specialty solutions for hygiene protection and technical expertise in medical textiles and Liberty’s more than two decades of experience in medical textiles and global export.
The resulting PPE, which will have antimicrobial and barrier coatings, is expected to be used in hospitals, isolation centres and intensive care units, first in Pakistan and eventually worldwide.
Taimoor Mukaty, director of Liberty Textile Mills, said the covid-19 pandemic has “given a wake-up call to work extensively towards enhancing healthcare facilities” and that the company is “looking forward to new innovations in producing top-class PPEs”.
