Collaboration is the way forward, Hyosung and Lenzing insist

Fibre manufacturers Lenzing and Hyosung have teamed up to develop a collection of performance fabrics that the companies say will work well in the current context of many consumers having to spend most of their time at home.

Under the name Home Everywhere, the fabrics will help garment manufacturers offer consumers “comfortable, sustainable, attractive loungewear and activewear”, the companies said.

Home Everywhere comprises three fabric groups, Deep Rich Colour, Soft Touch and Functional, which combine Lenzing’s cellulose fibres and Hyosung’s spandex, polyester and nylon fibres.

Senior manager of global business development in active sportswear at Lenzing, Andreas Guertler, said this was the continuation of an existing partnership with Hyosung. He added: “With covid-19, consumers are becoming more mindful of the world around them, triggering a greater demand for sustainable products that can help safeguard the planet. At Lenzing, we are committed to collaborating with more like-minded industry partners like Hyosung, as we continue to promote greater sustainability through textile innovations.”

For his part, marketing director in Europe for Hyosung, Simon Whitmarsh-Knight, said: “Our friends at Lenzing have been an ideal partner in the development of this innovative and sustainable fabric collection, which will enhance the long-lasting comfort, performance and versatility consumers are craving in their apparel today.”

He said that collaboration is “the way forward” as the textile industry seeks creative and performance solutions.

Hyosung and Lenzing will present the Home Everywhere collection at Interfilère Connect, which is taking place online until October 24, and at Performance Days in Munich, which runs from December 9-10.
