Latest industry figures suggest that from January to August 2020, China’s cotton fabric imports totalled 121 million metres, down 37.5% year on year.  

Cumulative exports of cotton fabric were 4.2 billion metres, down 21% year on year. 

China imported a total of 210,000 tonnes of cotton in September 2020, an increase of 50% month on month. There was a 7.7% year-on-year decrease in tonnes of cotton imported between January and September 2020.
