Schoeller aims to help German brand bore its customers to sleep
Technology from Schoeller that reflects infra-red rays back to the body has been selected by German sleepwear brand MEY for use in a new collection called Zzzleepwear. The technology, energear, is a textile finish based on a titanium-mineral matrix that Schoeller first brought to market in 2010.
MEY has now applied it to the fabric it has used in the new collection, made from cotton and thermoregulating fibres. Energear has gone onto the inside of the fabric in a honeycomb form.
In addition, a Spotify code is printed on every item in the series. By scanning this code, customers can listen to a sleep podcast created especially for the pair of pyjamas they have selected. In the podcast, the products tell their own manufacturing story, from the cotton field to the fabric production in Albstadt, to the store.
The brand has described the story as “so boring, it will have customers nodding off in no time”.
