Polygiene and Addmaster join hands in ‘comprehensive’ antimicrobial effort
Sweden-based antimicrobial technology provider Polygiene has bought Addmaster, a UK-based “global leader” in the supply of additives for the textile, plastics, paper, paints and coatings industries, according to its website.
The purchase, which came at a price of SEK 374 million (roughly USD 45 million), makes Polygiene a “comprehensive supplier of antimicrobial solutions”, Polygiene said in a press release.
CEO of Polygiene, Ulrika Björk, commented: “The acquisition will allow us to offer the market comprehensive solutions for both soft surfaces such as textiles and hard surfaces such as floors, handles and bathroom fittings in public spaces. This reduces the need for washing and cleaning, and therefore lessons our environmental impact.
“Our vision is to fundamentally transform the industry, partly by encouraging consumers to change their behaviour and wash less, and partly by getting the industry to be part of building an eco-friendly society with an approach to consumption that is more sustainable in the long term.”
Polygiene, the company behind ViralOff anti-viral technology, was established following the 2004 SARS pandemic.
