Polygiene heads towards a strong quarter

Some suppliers of antimicrobial solutions have done well during the pandemic, signing deals for coating textiles, masks, PPE and hard surfaces, as demand jumped for protection against viruses and bacteria.
Polygiene CEO Ulrika Björk said: “Net sales in the second quarter are in line with expectations, and both the organic and the growth for the group were strong compared to last year.
“The gross margin is slightly lower due to more expensive transport costs, minor price increases for raw materials and the fact that some larger volume orders were sold with a little lower price during the quarter. Some non-recurring costs have also affected the result, but I am very pleased to deliver an EBIT [earnings] of more than 10 million krona.”
In 2020, Polygiene had revenues of around $10 million, an increase of 22% compared with 2019 after it signed more than 100 agreements, most of them connect to the ViralOff anti-viral technology.
