Bright future for Polygiene

Antimicrobial treatments specialist Polygiene has updated its financial targets for the period 2022 – 2026, when it expects to have sales of more than SEK 1 billion (£83 million).

The Swedish company suggests the antimicrobial treatment market will grow about 10% per year, and it is targeting a growth rate higher than the market.

An increasing awareness of sustainability issues, plus a greater focus on viruses and health are the contributing factors for the anticipated growth.

Chairman Jonas Wollin said: "This is an ambitious goal but realistic based on the development the company has had in recent years. We continue to see strong organic growth in the existing business while opening up for new strategic acquisitions.”

It is seeing strong momentum in the US, increased presence in Europe and says East Asia is a largely untouched geography, relative to potential.

Ulrika Björk, CEO of Polygiene, added: “In addition to growing the existing business, we see underlying growth strategies primarily in new applications and in new segments. To remain at the forefront of the industry, product development will be a significant part of the innovation roadmap.

"The important sustainability work will continue and intensify in 2022, where the focus is on generating value-creating data, specifically in regards to the company's own climate footprint, but also the reduced environmental impact of a treated product.”
