Sixteen textiles projects in Archroma’s new sustainability report

Textile chemicals group Archroma has published a new sustainability report, covering its activity in its most business year, the period from October 2019 to September 2020.

For the first time, this edition of the report included feedback from stakeholders “to confirm the relevance” of the topics covered in the report. These include biodiversity, occupational and product safety, fair labour practices, compliance, economic performance and culture.

Chief executive, Heike van de Kerkhof, said Archroma remained committed to developing “products that are safe and designed to reduce the consumption of natural resources”, thereby decreasing its customers’ environmental footprint.

During fiscal year 2020, the group launched 16 solutions and systems designed to help the textile industry meet this goal. These included projects aimed at sports and outdoor clothing, denim and casual apparel. More than 60% of Archroma’s sales revenues come from the textile industry.

Highlights included Kahtmandu’s and Ternua’s adoption of Archroma’s EarthColors biomass-based dye range.
