Isbjörn takes an increasingly recycled route
Outdoor kidswear brand Isbjörn of Sweden recently announced that its Panda hoodie (pictured) will incorporate 48% recycled polyester content from the spring-summer 2022 season, onwards.
The brand said in a press release that its current focus includes improving the sustainable and durable credentials of existing products, such as the Panda, which it said will be made from a Bluesign-approved nylon and recycled polyester mix in from next year.
Isbjörn added that the hoodie would therefore become “more sustainable”, without lessening its durability or performance properties. It also revealed that the hoodie would be released in seven new colours derived from Bluesign chemical pigments.
Founder and chief executive of the Nacka, Stockholm-headquartered company, Maria Frykman, commented: “Using our new recycled polyester fabric is a new sustainability milestone in Panda’s development, with absolutely no compromise on durability, comfort or promise.”
