Renewcell’s net sales down in Q2

Swedish recycling innovator Renewcell recently released its results for the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, the period running from April through June.

Net sales over the three months were roughly $26,500 (228,000 Swedish Krona), down from around $100,700 (868,000 Swedish Krona) for the comparative period a year earlier.

Notable highlights from the period include Danish fashion company Bestseller's launch of its first garments created using Renewcell’s Circulose dissolving pulp product (made from 100% textile waste, including from production scraps and off-cuts and worn-out jeans) via its Vero Moda and Selected brands in April.

More recently, Renewcell also signed an agreement with Spanish fashion group Inditex (the owner of Zara, among other brands) in June. The intention is to pilot a closed-loop textile production project, the Swedish business said.
