Chief operating officer of Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Lena Staafgard, is to serve on the board of a directors of multi-stakeholder group the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC).

BCI, the Geneva-based body that campaigns for increased production and consumption of “more sustainable cotton”, said it was confident Ms Staafgard’s appointment to the SAC board would allow her to help “drive sustainable production across the global footwear, apparel and textile value chains”.

The SAC has been an associate member of Better since 2019. 

Ms Staafgard said: “I am proud to join my peers and fellow sustainability champions as we help the SAC achieve its vision of an industry that gives more than it takes.”
