New DWR developed by Huntsman Textile Effects
Singapore-based chemicals developer Huntsman Textile Effects has introduced a new PFC-free durable water repellency (DWR) technology, Phobotex R-Ace.
It said the new product would make it possible for mills and brands to deliver high-performance sports apparel and everyday wear while meeting stringent environmental standards.
It said the DWR technology would work on all types of fibres and blends, while also offering compatibility with resin finishing “to ensure even application with unmatchable performance on cellulosic fibres”.
In addition, the technology will repel stains from mud, coffee, ketchup, juice and other common sources.
“There is growing worldwide demand for garments that deliver high-performance weather protection and stain-resistance with improved sustainability,” said Huntsman Textile Effects vice-president, Lutfu Okman.
