New international marketing VP for Gymshark
A former chief marketing officer at The Very Group, Carly O’Brien, has been appointed vice-president (VP) of marketing at UK-based activewear brand Gymshark, in charge of delivering the company’s strategic scaling initiatives across the UK, Asia-Pacific and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) markets.
Reporting to Gymshark’s president of international markets, Niran Chana, Ms O’Brien will be responsible for spearheading new brand building and customer engagement activities, as well as rolling out “a new regionalised [marketing] model”.
Prior to her work with Very, the executive held senior management roles at Virgin Money, NatWest Group and Bank of America, having begun her career with MBNA following undergraduate criminology studies at Lancaster University.
Ms O'Brien also possesses a marketing-focused Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Leicester.
Commenting on the new hire, Mr Chana said: “Carly’s track record speaks for itself. She is an extremely astute marketer with incredible experience in some of the UK’s most dyamic companies. She has been a tremendous influence in everything she has done to date, and I have no doubt that Gymshark will be no different.”
