Fewer seams and progressive art in Puma’s new ball for Serie A

Sports brand Puma has designed a new official ball for season 2022-2023 in Italy’s top league, Serie A. 

Puma announced in March that it was to become the official technical partner of Serie A and the new ball, the Orbita, kicks the partnership off.

The company said its design for Orbita blends elements of Italian culture, notably with elements from Italian progressive art. Its construction has 12 large, star-shaped panels, which results in a reduced number of seams.

Serie A’s 2022-2023 season will begin on August 13, but the ball will be available commercially from July 1.
