Li-Ning to open its first Hong Kong flagship
Chinese sports brand Li-Ning has revealed plans to inaugurate a 650-square-metre boutique on Canton Road in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district, known for its luxury shopping.
The store, expected to open before the close of 2022, will be the brand’s first flagship in the special administrative region.
According to local media, the value of the monthly lease is approximately HK$2 million or just under $255,000, as much as 70% lower than the previous tenant’s rent. This is thought to be due to the continued lack of tourists visiting Hong Kong at present.
Beijing-based Li-Ning reported a year-on-year revenue increase of 21.7% for the six months ended June 30 in mid-August, achieving roughly $1.8 billion or ¥12.4 billion in total.
Earlier the same month, the company opened its first-ever “city custom” store concept in its home city, designed to function as a site for the display of product innovations, the sale of limited-edition merchandise and a vehicle for creative storytelling around collaborations in both modern and traditional fashion, it said on Chinese social media platform Weibo at the time.
