Freudenberg finds more complex solutions in China
Technical textiles developer Freudenberg Performance Materials Apparel has inaugurated a new, 900-square-metre site at its existing factory in Nantong, China.
To be known by the name Apparel Technical Solution Center – Asia, the facility is specially geared towards the demands of the activewear segment and related performance applications. On-site equipment thus includes sportswear-specific sewing machines, fibre-filling technology, laser and ultrasonic cutters, washing and dry-cleaning systems and a variety of fusing and bonding machines, Freudenberg said.
“As we continue to improve service offerings, the Nantong factory will advance the ongoing development of a robust supply chain with high-quality, innovative products as an important research, development and technical hub for our customers in Asia and around the world,” commented the company’s senior vice-president and general manager, Jonathan Oh.
Having commenced operations back in 2021, the Nantong factory already boasts a suite of cotton interlining, bi-elastic fusible interlining and preformed material production lines, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square-metres in total. It also has an integrated defect detection system, which allows for real-time correction.
