On welcomes its first-ever Chinese athlete
Zurich-based activewear brand On, best known for its performance footwear, has signed its first Chinese athlete since entering the market four years ago, triathlete Miao Hao.
Mr Miao became China’s first professional triathlete back in 2019 and has since developed a preference for long-distance events, as reported by local news outlet Xinhua. He is currently the Asian record holder for the Ironman Triathlon, as well as the Chinese record holder for the Ironman 70.3 or Half Ironman race. In May, he placed third at Ironman Mallorca.
According to his social media, Mr Miao is also sponsored by sports footwear technology specialist Sidas and wearable technology company Garmin.
On was co-founded by former Swiss Ironman champion Olivier Bernhard in 2012, who previously competed in triathlon and duathlon events. The brand launched its own resale and trade-in platform earlier in September.
