Anta’s sustainability activities ranked ‘excellent’
Activewear group Anta has been singled out as an “excellent enterprise case” by Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)'s China Business Council arm, as part of the latter's Sustainable China Industry Development Initiative.

Jointly launched by APEC China Business Council and the International Cooperation Center of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, the scheme advocates for “low-carbon” advancement through product design and innovation, along with sustainable value chains. This year's focus was on “green” development and digital technologies, in line with the government’s vision for sustainable growth.

Chief financial officer and sustainability committee chair at Anta Sports, Lai Shixian, commented that the recognition “serves as a testament to our determination” in the field of social and environmental responsibility. He contextualised these efforts by drawing attention to last month’s twentieth National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, emphasising its "green" undertones.

Until doors open to the group’s new Shanghai headquarters in 2024, Hong Kong-listed Anta is primarily based in Fujian province. It published its environmental, social and governance report for 2021, which includes the establishment of its sustainability committee, earlier this year.
