Growth elsewhere ‘partially offsets’ China fall for Nike

Sports brand Nike has reported its results for the first quarter of its current business year, the three months ending August 31.

It reported revenues of $12.7 billion, an increase of 4% year on year. Chief executive, John Donahoe, said the results were testament to Nike’s “deep consumer connections” and its pipeline of innovative products.

Its revenues in the Chinese market declined, but it said this set-back had been partially offset by double-digit growth in other important markets, including North America and Europe.
