Business Finland to fund 50% of Spinnova project

04/10/2022

Textile fibre developer Spinnova has won a grant of up to €1.6 million to help fund a research project it will carry out between now and the end of 2024. The money is from Business Finland, a government organisation for funding innovation.

Spinnova is embarking on what it calls follow-up research on its fibre technology with the aim of finding new application areas and product segments for it. Potential developments include scalable dope-dyeing of the Spinnova fibre.

The company has said the grant will cover up to 50% of the project costs. “It’s great to see that Spinnova’s potential in the global fibre markets has been recognised, and top-level Finnish research and development work is being supported financially,” said the fibre manufacturer’s chief executive, Kim Poulsen.
