New funding for waste-to-polyester technology developer
A chemical company that is developing technology to recycle CO2 waste fumes from chemical plants into high value textile products through a circular manufacturing process has raised €22 million in new funding.
The company, Fairbrics, has secured €17 million from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme and a further €5 million from a group of partners in Spain, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Germany and France.
Paris-based Fairbrics will use the funding to develop a pilot line of its technology that will have the capacity to process 100 kilos of CO2 emissions per day by 2024. And by 2026, it intends to have in place a demo plant with the capacity to process 1 tonne of CO2 per day.
