Carbon footprint verification for foam manufacturer
Taiwan-based performance foam supplier Dahsheng Chemical has achieved formal verification of the sustainability of its products.
After assessing three factories in Vietnam, covering the lifecycle of products, from the acquisition of raw materials to transportation, energy, and waste, standards body BSI awarded the company Material Carbon Footprint Verification under the ISO 14067 standard.
Working with Taiwan’s environmental protection administration, Dahsheng has also helped establish product category rules for calculating the carbon footprint of insole products. Chief executive, Johnson Chang said: “We are on a mission to make the world a better place, one insole at a time.”
By 2025, Dahsheng Chemical aims to have established closed-loop manufacturing, including the recycling of 100% of its foam waste and the expansion of its use of renewable energy. It has said it will reduce its carbon emissions by 50% by the same date.
