Change of chief operating officer for Pentland Brands

06/04/2023

Footwear and sportswear group Pentland Brands, the parent company of Speedo, Berghaus, Canterbury, Ellesse, Mitre and other brands, has announced a new global chief operating officer.

It has appointed an internal candidate to the position, its president for business in Asia, Abhy Thomas-Joseph. He will replace Jon Godden, who, having spent 16 years at Pentland Brands, has decided to leave the business in June 2023.

Mr Thomas-Joseph was previously Pentland’s group digital and innovations director and, before that, its global IT director. He has been responsible for “pioneering innovative developments in technology, optimising consumer, customer and employee experiences”, Pentland said.

Chief executive, Chirag Patel, said his hope was that, with Abhy Thomas-Joseph in his new role, Pentland Group would be able to build strategic sourcing partnerships, future-proof its supply chain and use data and technology “to power business growth”.
