ITMA could be Quebec’s cue to invest in textile innovation
Over 30 companies and organisations representing the textile and garment industry in Quebec will attend ITMA 2023 in Milan (June 8-14).
Companies in Quebec have said they look forward to seeing recent advances in technology with a view to investing to upgrade their manufacturing operations and continue growing.
Quebec’s textile industry includes 400 companies specialising in the manufacture of textiles, textile-based products and knit garments. A key sector in Quebec’s economy, it produces more than 50% of Canada’s textiles and employs 12,000 people. Its wider fashion and apparel ecosystem has more than 77,000 workers.
Montreal is one of North America’s three leading cities in the area of garment production, along with Los Angeles and New York. With more 12,000 manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors and designers.
