BTMA hopes to capitalise on ITMF’s global ecosystem

Zurich-based body the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) has welcomed the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA) into its fold, as part of efforts to strengthen ties and make UK businesses more visible on the global stage.

“ITMF was actually headquartered in Manchester, UK, until the 1960s, so we share longstanding roots,” commented its director general, Dr Christian Schindler (pictured left).

“Today, ITMF members are from across the entire textile supply chain, which enables them to gain a better understanding of the full complexity and dynamics of the industry and to fully respond to the opportunities and challenges it faces.

“We are pleased to welcome BTMA as our latest member and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership going forward.”

The announcement was made at quadrennial textile machinery exhibition ITMA in Milan earlier this monthBTMA chief executive, Jason Kent (pictured right), said he viewed ITMF membership as “essential” to supporting UK companies with successful internationalisation. Representatives will travel to ITMF's annual conference in Keqiao, China, this November, he added.
